SAGaPS Philosophy of Peace

Expert in Gender and Peace Security, Sara Formisano is one of the founders of Scintille and currently acting as its president. Professionally, Sara is an experienced practitioner in peace operations with e specialization in Women Peace and Security. Currently, she collaborates with the Rotary Peace Foundation as Peace Fellow at University of Makerere in Uganda. All along her career, she worked in many conflict zones, latelly she worked in South Sudan, Uganda, Angola and Nigeria, among others countries. Sara covered a variety of professional assignments, and her last role in war zone was as International Observer at the Ceasefire Transitional Security Arrangement Monitoring and Verification Mechanism in South Sudan for the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD). Academically, Sara has got a bachaler in degree in Political Sciences, and a Master of Science in International Development at Istituto Universitario Orientale. Recently she gor a post-graduate in Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation and a post-graduate degree in Gender Rights. Additionally, she certified as Gender and Human Rights investigator at the Institute for International Criminal Investigations, and as Peace Mediator at the European Peace Institute. Presently, she works as a consultant on conflict resolution and peace building with a specialization on women´s participation on peace processes. Contemporary , she is collaborating with the Rotary Peace Foundation on peacebuilding Social Change Initiatives on the role of women in Ukrainia and Sudan.
